Approach

  1. Enhanced Usability
    • Simplified the ability to re-search items, reducing the steps required to refine or alter search queries.
    • Introduced search term recommendations to assist users in refining their searches based on common and related queries.
  2. Search History and Recommendations
    • Integrated a feature to display users’ search history along with recommended products, enhancing the personalized shopping experience.
  3. Improved Default State
    • Configured the search bar to display popular searches when not in use, guiding users towards trending products and searches.
  4. Optimized Loading Results Experience
    • Addressed the issue where the "sorry, no results" message was mistakenly shown during the loading phase. Implemented a clear loading indicator to set correct expectations.
  5. Predictive Search Functionality
    • Deployed predictive search capabilities to offer real-time suggestions and possible product matches as users type their queries.
  6. Enhanced Error Handling and Suggestions
